OXFORD have announced the signing of Troy Batchelor as part of a strong top-end as the sport returns to Cowley next season.
Batchelor joins captain Scott Nicholls in making the move from Kent as the Cheetahs prepare for their entry into the Championship.
He said: “I’m very excited to join Oxford Cheetahs in 2022 and be part of speedway’s regeneration in the city.
“Oxford has a proud speedway history and I know the club’s closure in 2007 hurt many people connected to the sport.
“It’s fantastic for British Speedway that an agreement has been reached to bring the club back, and I know Jamie (Courtney, promoter) has big plans to make our great sport accessible to a new influx of fans.
“I know Scott well from my time racing in England and on the continent so joining Oxford in 2022 was a no-brainer for me. The track will suit my riding style and if the team can click early in the season, I’d like to think we’ll be well positioned to challenge for top honours.”
