BRUMMIES IN STEFAN HEAVEN

STEFAN Nielsen is the third rider on his way back to Birmingham – and he becomes an official asset of the club.

Nielsen joined the Brummies for 2022 after for riding for Poole last year, and had a solid season before missing their closing matches of the campaign due to injury.

The Brummies have purchased his contract from Swindon via the British Speedway Promoters’ Ltd and he will now line up for the Perry Barr side for a second straight season.

Team boss Laurence Rogers said: “I think we saw enough from Stefan to justify bringing him back and I’m sure all Birmingham supporters would agree.

“He’ll start next season on a starting average of 4.82 and if people think back to his performances this year then they’ll know he’s a better rider than that figure.

“He’s feeling good, he’s feeling refreshed and we’re not only delighted to have him back in the team for next year, but also as a club asset as well which is key for future plans.”
