SEDGMEN IS BRUMMIES SKIPPER

BIRMINGHAM have named Justin Sedgmen as their club captain for the new Cab Direct Championship season.

Sedgmen enjoyed a successful campaign with the Brummies last year after joining in May, and was one of three riders retained for 2023.

Promoter Laurence Rogers said: “Sedgy did a good job as captain after he took over when Ash (Morris) was injured.

“He spent time with his team and that showed he had the right credentials to continue in the role this year.”

But the Brummies have an immediate concern over winter signing James Wright, who missed press and practice with a shoulder injury after crashing in the last race of Paul Starke’s Testimonial at Plymouth on Tuesday.
