SCOTTISH CUP IS BACK!

FIERCE rivals Edinburgh and Glasgow are set to revive the Scottish Cup competition to kick off the new season.

The silverware has not been contested in recent years, but the sides will meet over two legs, starting at Armadale on Friday April 4 with the return at Ashfield the following week (April 11). The initial clash is set to be the first meeting of 2025 staged at Cab Direct Championship level.

Last year’s encounters provided plenty of drama with the Monarchs securing an extra BSN Series point in a Super Heat at Glasgow, as they topped the group and reached the semi-finals, whilst in the league their home win in September virtually ended the Tigers’ play-off hopes.

Edinburgh promoter John Campbell said: “This is the ideal way to kick off our 2025 campaign.

“A Scottish Cup derby always brings a high level of tension and excitement, and it’s a fantastic chance for fans to see our new side in action.”
