SCORPIONS SECURE ZISCHKE
CAB Direct Championship runners-up Scunthorpe have announced a major new signing for 2027 with Australian racer Tate Zischke joining the club.
21-year-old Zischke has spent the previous three seasons with Workington and has frequently been a high scorer on his visits to the Eddie Wright Raceway.
His most recent appearance saw him rack up 13 points as a guest for Glasgow in the play-off semi-finals, and he is set to come in for the Scorpions on a 6.56 average subject to approval.
Team manager David Howe said: “We are happy and relieved to sign Tate. We’ve been looking at him for quite a while. I’ve actually tried to get him to guest for us a few times but for whatever reasons, it’s always fallen through.
“I really wanted him in 2027 as I think it has taken him a bit of time to get over his injuries, but this season he was impressive and I really think he will kick on now.
“Tate will be strong at home but I also think he will give us a lot more away from home. As this season showed, those aggregate points are very important.”
