REID’S HELP FROM THE STARS

BERWICK newcomer Reid Battye has revealed his hotline to treble World Champion Jason Crump as he prepares for his debut UK campaign.

Battye has plenty of support from fellow countrymen with another former Grand Prix star Craig Boyce also an admirer of his talent.

Said Battye: “Jason has been helping me heaps, calling me or sending messages with tips and he will be on the end of a phone when I get over to Berwick too.

“It’s been a good summer over here and I’ve trained very hard and worked hard, and I think I’ve been getting the rewards.

“Getting the British contract all happened pretty quickly and I can’t wait now to get over to Berwick.

“I’ve heard it’s a really big speedway town and it’s on the coast. I live near the beach in Australia so it’s probably the same – just a bit colder!”
