PREVIEW: WORKINGTON v SCUNTHORPE (CAB DIRECT CHAMP)

WORKINGTON have confirmed the return of reserve Vinnie Foord ahead of their Cab Direct Championship clash with Scunthorpe at the GT Tyres Arena today (Saturday).

Foord has been absent since an early-season crash at Redcar left him with knee injuries, but after practice he is now fit to make his comeback.

The Comets are hopeful that No.1 Jonas Jeppesen will be able to race after a crash in Denmark in midweek, whilst the Scorpions saw reserve Dan Gilkes crash out of their dramatic win at Redcar on Friday.

Workington boss James Denham said: “We’ve shown in recent weeks what we’re capable of, but now we need to start turning encouraging performances into results and league points.”

“Glasgow was a good effort from the lads and to take them to a last-heat decider around their own place showed plenty of fight. But we need league points on the board, and Saturday is a great chance to do that.”
