PREVIEW: WORKINGTON v REDCAR (CAB DIRECT KO CUP)

WORKINGTON face a 13-point deficit as they seek to turn around their Cab Direct KO Cup quarter-final tie against Redcar today (Saturday).

The Comets lost the first leg 51-38 and are forced into two changes with James Pearson guesting for concussion victim Antti Vuolas, whilst Paul Starke comes in for Celina Liebmann who is racing in a Speedway Euro Championship qualifier.

The Bears once again bring in Erik Riss for the injured Danny King, and travel in the knowledge that they suffered only an eight-point defeat on their previous visit to the GT Tyres Arena in the BSN Series.

Workington boss James Denham said: “We trail by 13 points after the first leg, but are hopeful we can overturn the deficit on home shale.

“Confidence is high in the team following last Sunday’s 56-34 victory over Scunthorpe at Northside – a superb team effort.”

WORKINGTON: Craig Cook, James Pearson, Tate Zischke, Claus Vissing, Troy Batchelor, Sam McGurk, Paul Starke.
REDCAR: Charles Wright, Jonas Knudsen, Connor Bailey, Jason Edwards, Erik Riss, Jake Mulford, Ben Trigger.
SCB Referee: Jim McGregor
