PREVIEW: SCUNTHORPE v GLASGOW (Cab Direct Champ)

SCUNTHORPE can book their place in the Cab Direct Championship play-offs with a win over third-placed Glasgow at the Eddie Wright Raceway tonight (Friday).

The Scorpions need two more points to mathematically confirm a top six finish, although the Tigers did win in Lincolnshire in the BSN Series semi-finals in May.

Scunthorpe promoter Rob Godfrey said: “We stepped up a notch at Birmingham on Wednesday, and we’re now at a stage of the season where momentum is vital. We want to stay in that winning groove as we build up towards the play-offs and the Knockout Cup semi-final against Redcar.

“We know that Glasgow will be no walkover, after all they’ve already won here once this season.

“But if we fire on all cylinders like we did at Birmingham, then not only can we beat the Tigers but also chase the aggregate point, where we have ten points to make up from the first leg in Scotland.”

Glasgow operate rider replacement at No.2 for Marcin Nowak who is withholding services, with Vadim Tarasenko due to join the club in time for their closing fixtures.
