PREVIEW: SCUNTHORPE v EDINBURGH (CAB DIRECT CHAMP + WSRA NDL)

SCUNTHORPE stage a double header at the Eddie Wright Raceway tonight (Friday) with Cab Direct Championship and WSRA National Development League action against Edinburgh.

The senior encounter sees the Scorpions defending an unbeaten home record and a win would take them second in the table – although the Monarchs are well placed for the aggregate point after their 56-34 victory at Armadale last week.

The home side continue to operate rider replacement for the injured Michael Palm Toft, with the visitors at full strength.

In the NDL encounter, it is r/r again for the hosts, this time in place of Ace Pijper who is racing for his Championship club Glasgow.

Admission prices are raised by just £5 for the double header with a 30-heat programme of racing.

Promoter Rob Godfrey said: “We want that aggregate point. We are capable of getting it, no question, despite the margin of last Friday’s defeat.

“In any case, it’s going to be a fantastic night of speedway. Josh Pickering is always one of the best visitors around the Eddie Wright Raceway.

“It should be a very enjoyable evening, with 30 heats including Nathan (Ablitt) and Luke (Harrison) leading the Stags in what is bound to be an exciting meeting in the WSRA National League.

“We’ve kept prices competitive, and I hope the fans turn up in force and get behind both Scunthorpe teams.”
