PREVIEW: REDCAR v BERWICK (MAXiCAB KO CUP)
REDCAR trail Berwick by four points heading into the second leg of their MAXiCab KO Cup quarter-final tie at the ECCO Arena tonight (Friday).
The Bears welcome back both reserves Tom Spencer and Ace Pijper after they crashed out of the win over Workington last Friday, causing them to miss the first leg of the Bandits tie at Shielfield Park.
Redcar manager Gavin Parr said: “Both Ace and Tom have declared themselves fit, so it will be good to have them both back.
“I’m under no illusions that we are in for a tough test, Berwick are one of the dark horses this season for me.
“We obviously need to start fast and aim to get into a lead of our own and then start to put some distance between us and the Bandits.”
Berwick manager Stewart Dickson said: “It will be tough at Redcar, and they will come at us. We simply have to do our job, and that would be enough to get through.”
REDCAR: Charles Wright, Jake Mulford, Jason Edwards, Danny King, Erik Riss, Tom Spencer, Ace Pijper.
BERWICK: Craig Cook, Danyon Hume, Drew Kemp, Sam Hagon, Peter Kildemand, Dayle Wood, Jack Smith.
SCB Referee: Simon Humphrey-Kennett
