PREVIEW: POOLE v GLASGOW (CAB DIRECT CHAMP)
POOLE and Glasgow clash in a mouth-watering battle of the top two sides in the Cab Direct Championship at Wimborne Road tonight (Wednesday).
The Pirates lead the standings by two points, largely thanks to their 47-43 win at Ashfield last month, which was the Tigers’ only defeat of the league campaign so far.
It’s a big night for 16-year-old Will Cairns who makes his senior debut for the home side, whilst the visitors are forced to make two alterations.
They are without the injured Leon Flint and recent signing Villads Nagel due to a Danish commitment, so Joe Thompson and Danyon Hume come in to guest.
Poole co-promoter Dan Ford said: “I feel that we are beginning to get into our stride with our recent league meetings, and we are in a good place currently.
“We can of course strengthen that further with three points on offer, but we will need to pull together as a seven-man unit just like we have been doing of late.”
POOLE: Richard Lawson, Tobias Thomsen, Lewis Kerr, Zach Cook, Anders Rowe, Paul Starke, Will Cairns.
GLASGOW: Chris Harris, Danyon Hume, Dan Thompson, Joe Thompson, Kyle Howarth, Freddy Hodder, Max Perry.
SCB Referee: Christina Turnbull
