PREVIEW: POOLE v EDINBURGH (BSN SERIES S/F)

POOLE trail Edinburgh by a narrow two-point margin heading into the second leg of their BSN Series semi-final at Wimborne Road tonight (Wednesday).

The Pirates have reached every Final since the inception of the competition and they are boosted by being back at full strength as Fraser Bowes returns from a punctured lung which caused him to miss the first leg.

A riding order switch for the home side sees British Under-21 Champion Cooper Rushen now in the main body of the team, with Kyle Newman moving to reserve.

The Monarchs welcome back Dan Thompson after a month out with a broken collarbone, but skipper Paco Castagna is on the sidelines with Joe Thompson coming in to guest.

Poole co-promoter Dan Ford said: “I certainly do not share the views of some that it is a done deal, in terms of getting to the Final. We still have work to do and Edinburgh will be a stern test.

“So my message to supporters is that we have not achieved our BSN goal yet and we need as much encouragement as possible to ensure that we overturn the two-point deficit from the first leg and keep our proud record of reaching all BSN Finals since the competition was introduced.”
