PREVIEW: PLYMOUTH v BIRMINGHAM (Cab Direct Champ)

PLYMOUTH will be without skipper Kyle Howarth and reserve Jake Turner for tonight’s (Tuesday) Cab Direct Championship clash with Birmingham.

Howarth is out with a neck injury, with the Gladiators operating rider replacement at No.1, whilst Turner crashed against Poole last week and is replaced by Lee Complin.

The Brummies are racing their first league match of the season and bring in Paco Castagna to guest for James Wright, who is due back from injury at home on Wednesday, whilst new signing Joe Thompson makes his debut.

Birmingham co-promoter Nigel Tolley said: “Joe has already been to Plymouth once this season with Scunthorpe and scored well and he’ll have a point to prove with us I’m sure.

“Plymouth lost at home on Friday night so while they have got a decent looking side, we only have to look as close as their most recent meeting to see that they can be beaten.

“Hopefully we can give a good account of ourselves and be able to take lots of positives back to Perry Barr with us on Wednesday.”

PLYMOUTH: Kyle Howarth r/r, Dan Gilkes, Paul Starke, Ben Barker, Richie Worrall, Lee Complin, Ben Trigger.
BIRMINGHAM: Nick Morris, Alfie Bowtell, Paco Castagna, Stefan Nielsen, Justin Sedgmen, Joe Thompson, James Pearson.
