PREVIEW: OXFORD v GLASGOW (CAB DIRECT CHAMP)

OXFORD face away-day specialists Glasgow in a big Cab Direct Championship clash at Cowley tonight (Wednesday).

Both sides are forced into a couple of changes for the meeting between two sides who have already qualified for the BSN Series semi-finals, with the Tigers suffering their first away defeat to rivals Edinburgh in the MAXiCab KO Cup last week.

The home side are without Cameron Heeps who is still feeling the effects of last week’s heavy crash, whilst Jonas Knudsen is on Danish Championship duty. Zach Cook and Alfie Bowtell come in to guest.

Meanwhile for Glasgow, Justin Sedgmen guests for Dan Thompson who is out with a broken scaphoid, and Luke Harrison is in for Ashton Boughen who withdrew from his top-flight meeting for King’s Lynn on Monday.

Oxford boss Peter Schroeck said: “Glasgow always tend to put together a strong team, but we’ve got some decent home victories over them at Oxford over the last couple of seasons and we’d like to keep that going.

“I believe we’ve got a strong side, with all seven riders capable of contributing points, and we’ll looking to keeping up our home momentum going. The Cab Direct Championship is very competitive this season and it’s important to win your home meetings.

“It’s going to be a top night of speedway between two very good sides, who could both feature in the shakedown for silverware at the end of the season.”

OXFORD: Sam Masters, Alfie Bowtell, Francis Gusts, Jordan Jenkins, Zach Cook, Mitch McDiarmid, Luke Killeen.

GLASGOW: Chris Harris, Luke Harrison, Justin Sedgmen, Leon Flint, Kyle Howarth, Freddy Hodder, Max Perry.

SCB Referee: Simon Humphrey-Kennett
