PREVIEW: OXFORD v EDINBURGH (CAB DIRECT CHAMPIONSHIP)
OXFORD Cheetahs look for a fifth home win of the season when they host Edinburgh in the Cab Direct Championship tonight (Wednesday).
The Cowley side have a 100 per cent record on their home circuit with early season results being tight prior to some impressive recent displays.
Cheetahs continue to operate rider replacement for the injured Henry Atkins, whilst the match comes too soon for Monarchs No.1 Josh Pickering, who is still out with a shoulder injury with Craig Cook coming in to guest.
Oxford manager Peter Schroeck said: “We certainly won’t be under-estimating Edinburgh. A lot of the results in the Cab Direct Championship this season have been very tight and not always predictable.
“But we’d like to build up a nice lead to take to Armadale a week on Friday, as aggregate points will again prove very important this season.
“Our previous home meeting for the Cheetahs, against Redcar, saw the boys dig deep and eventually end with a 17-point win, after a night of some terrific racing, and it was particularly satisfying to see both Luke (Killeen) and Ashton (Boughen), our two young reserves, both being paid for double figures that night.”
OXFORD: Sam Masters, Cameron Heeps, Henry Atkins r/r, Jordan Jenkins, Scott Nicholls, Ashton Boughen, Luke Killeen, Jody Scott (no.8).
EDINBURGH: Craig Cook, Lasse Fredriksen, Kye Thomson, Paco Castagna, Justin Sedgmen, Max James, Connor Coles.
SCB Referee: Chris Durno
