PREVIEW: OXFORD v EDINBURGH (CAB DIRECT CHAMP)

OXFORD welcome Cameron Heeps back from injury in a re-shuffled line-up as they face Edinburgh at Cowley tonight (Wednesday).

The Cheetahs are playing catch-up in the Cab Direct Championship with recent problems seeing them defeated in three out of four league matches, including in the reverse fixture at Armadale when a depleted side went down by ten points.

They are without Jonas Knudsen and Francis Gusts tonight due to Danish commitments, with Luke Harrison and Chargers captain Jody Scott stepping in as guests.

Meanwhile for the Monarchs Victor Palovaara is elevated to the No.1 position after his prolific start to the season at reserve, whilst youngster Jordy Loftus makes his senior debut.

Oxford manager Peter Schroeck said: “I believe Sam (Masters) and the boys are fully capable of a positive result and taking all three points. It will be great to have Cameron Heeps back from injury, while I believe Mitch McDiarmid will take the move up from reserve in his stride.

“We know that Cheetahs are a good team – we showed that at the start of the season by reaching the semi-finals of both the BSN Series and the MAXiCab Knockout Cup.

“We’d like to make a statement against Monarchs and show what we are capable of.”
