PREVIEW: GLASGOW v POOLE (Cab Direct Champ Grand Final)

GLASGOW host Poole in the first leg of the Cab Direct Championship Grand Final tonight (Monday) – with Tigers boss Cami Brown desperate for his team to end their wait for a league title.

The Tigers have repeatedly been frustrated in recent Grand Finals since their last victory twelve years ago, and they face a Pirates side who have dominated in their two-legged encounters since joining the league.

Brown said: “Over the past eight years we have won the KO Cup, Pairs twice and had a Championship Riders’ Champion in the period of time. We’ve also reached three other Cup Finals.

“It’s now about getting over the winning line more often. There is one thing for sure, this Glasgow team is packed with character. That’s what you need to win.

“They dug very deep on Tuesday night to defeat a very good Oxford side in the latter stages.

“Now the boys need to do it again over a Poole side that is mentally equipped to win trophies.

“Winning the league is everything. That’s the ultimate goal. We now need one final push.”

Both sides operate rider replacement in the first leg with Claus Vissing not fit to return for the Tigers, whilst Anders Rowe is still sidelined for the Pirates, who host the return fixture on Wednesday.

GLASGOW: Chris Harris, Tom Brennan, Benjamin Basso, Claus Vissing r/r, Vadim Tarasenko, Lee Complin, Ace Pijper.
POOLE: Richard Lawson, Anders Rowe r/r, Ben Cook, Zach Cook, Steve Worrall, Kyle Newman, Joe Thompson.
