PREVIEW: EDINBURGH v SCUNTHORPE (BSN SERIES S/F)
EDINBURGH are boosted by the return of Justin Sedgmen for tonight’s (Friday) BSN Series semi-final first leg clash with Scunthorpe.
Sedgmen had a successful try-out in midweek so is fit to take his place having been out since mid-July, and it’s therefore a full-strength Monarchs team.
The Armadale club took the aggregate point when they faced the Scorpions in league competition earlier in the season, with the second leg of this semi-final scheduled for the Eddie Wright Raceway in a fortnight.
Edinburgh boss Alex Harkess said: “We have to view the first leg as exactly what happened in the league, they are coming to us first and we need to open up a big lead.
“We know it is difficult at their place, although we did very well down there after a very bad start.
“The way we went in the second half of that meeting would give you confidence in what we might do, but the bottom line is we must dominate the first fixture, and open up a lead which gives us the confidence to go there and hold it.”
EDINBURGH: Josh Pickering, Kye Thomson, Lasse Fredriksen, Paco Castagna, Justin Sedgmen, Max James, Connor Coles.
SCUNTHORPE: Michael Palm Toft, Connor Mountain, Simon Lambert, Jake Allen, Kyle Howarth, Nathan Ablitt, Luke Harrison.
SCB Referee: Willie Dishington
