PREVIEW: EDINBURGH v REDCAR (CAB DIRECT CHAMP)

EDINBURGH host Redcar in an intriguing clash of two play-off challengers in the Cab Direct Championship at Armadale tonight (Friday).

Both sides are currently just outside the top four and the visitors have matches in hand, with the aggregate point also available after the Bears won the reverse fixture 50-40 at the ECCO Arena.

And they have been successful on their previous two visits to the Scottish venue courtesy of last-heat 5-1s from Charles Wright and Danny King.

The Monarchs are looking forward to getting back on track at home after recent postponements, and they do so with a full-strength side.

Meanwhile the Bears bring in Tate Zischke to guest for the unwell Erik Riss, whilst 16-year-old Will Cairns appears in the top five as a replacement for Jake Mulford, who is on international duty this weekend.

Edinburgh star Michael Palm Toft, facing his former club, said: “Definitely, I would have liked to have left Redcar with something and I thought we could have done that so for me it was a bit disappointing to get beaten by ten overall.

“On Friday we need to get that little bit extra and go for the aggregate point as well as the win.”
