POSTPONED: EDINBURGH v BERWICK (BSN SERIES)

FRIDAY’S scheduled BSN Series match between Edinburgh and Berwick at Armadale has been postponed because of a waterlogged track. A new date will be announced in due course.

EDINBURGH and Berwick kick off their BSN Series campaigns as the sides meet at Armadale tonight (Friday) ahead of tomorrow’s return at Shielfield Park.

The Monarchs have a new No.1 in Dan Thompson, who superbly won the Ben Fund Bonanza at Glasgow last weekend, whilst Mitchell Cluff also makes his debut for the home side.

They will face two of their recent team members with Victor Palovaara and Lasse Fredriksen making their first appearances for the Bandits, Palovaara having ridden for Edinburgh last year, and there is also a debut for Reid Battye whilst captain Jye Etheridge returns from a season at Workington.

Edinburgh boss Alex Harkess said: “You never know really at the start of the season what anyone’s going to do, some people have had a match, some have just had a practice, you’re never sure.

“We need to take it as it comes, we just have to be sure that we do our job, win the match and get off to a good start. That’s what it’s all about.

“Berwick have got riders who are capable of double figures, but they have also been to Armadale and had very poor nights. All that’s important is that we do well.”

Palovaara said: “Friday sees me and Lasse Fredriksen returning to where we both did well as Monarchs while Peter Kildemand, Nick Morris and Jye Etheridge all know their way around there.

“But I still think we might have one or two tips we can pass onto them.”

EDINBURGH: Dan Thompson, Jonatan Grahn, Justin Sedgmen, Paco Castagna, Kye Thomson, Mitchell Cluff, Jordy Loftus.

BERWICK: Peter Kildemand, Jye Etheridge, Victor Palovaara, Lasse Fredriksen, Nick Morris, Jack Smith, Reid Battye.

SCB Referee: Graeme Hunter
