PREVIEW: BERWICK v GLASGOW (CAB DIRECT CHAMP)

BERWICK welcome back Danish star Peter Kildemand for their long-awaited return to Shielfield Park against Glasgow tonight (Saturday).

The Bandits are racing at home for the first time in six weeks after rain-offs and other gaps in the schedule, meaning Kildemand has only missed two fixtures whilst sidelined with a broken collarbone.

There is a debut for Jordan Jenkins at reserve after he joined as cover for the injured Reid Battye, whilst the Tigers are seeking a first away win and they include four former Berwick riders in their line-up.

Bandits manager Stewart Dickson said: “Nobody is going to be fooled into thinking we face anything other than a huge challenge on Saturday from a Glasgow side with more laps under their belt around Shielfield than Berwick.

“Peter’s return is a huge boost as we face a busy period in both the league and cups, and the addition of Jordan Jenkins gives us a bit of balance at the bottom end of the team.

“We have done what we set out to do so far, but reaching the play-offs was also on our to-do list. For that to happen we have to make sure that we win our home meetings – no matter how tough the opposition.”

Glasgow boss Cami Brown said: “We’ve had a bit of a break from racing as a team and we need to come back firing on all cylinders.  

“Berwick is a tough place to go. They have Peter Kildemand back and have signed Jordan Jenkins, they look strong. 

“But we have riders who ride Berwick really well and we are capable of getting the away win we need.”
