PREVIEW: BERWICK v EDINBURGH (CAB DIRECT CHAMP)

BERWICK bid to complete a 100 per cent home record in the Cab Direct Championship when they host play-off qualifiers Edinburgh tonight (Saturday).

The Bandits saw their own top four hopes ended when they lost the reverse fixture 49-41 last weekend, but a win and the aggregate point at Shielfield Park would take them up to fifth in the table.

Swedish star Victor Palovaara misses out due to injury whilst the visitors also operate rider replacement for Paco Castagna who is racing in the Italian Championship.

The home side are without Jack Smith at reserve due to injury, and youngster Harry Fletcher comes in for his Championship debut to replace him.

Berwick manager Stewart Dickson said: “There’s still a lot of racing to be done this season despite missing out on the play-offs.

“Being unbeaten in all competitions at home would be quite an achievement.”
