POSTPONED: POOLE v OXFORD (CAB DIRECT CHAMP GRAND FINAL)

BAD weather has once again delayed the Cab Direct Championship Grand Final with Friday’s clash between Poole and Oxford at Wimborne Road postponed.

A re-staging date of Wednesday October 9 has been agreed for what will become the second leg of the tie, which will now get underway at Cowley on Saturday October 5.

Pirates promoter Dan Ford said: “With the extreme amount of rain causing the track to be heavily saturated and with the yellow warning still in place for more rain overnight, we have had no choice but to postpone the meeting.

“We want the Grand Final to be a great spectacle between two fantastic teams, and under these conditions, that would not be possible.”
