POSITIVE NIGHT FOR BRUMMIES
BIRMINGHAM CEO Nigel Tolley has confirmed Monday’s attendance for the top-flight clash with Sheffield was the largest of his time in charge.
The Brummies and the Tigers fought out a 45-45 draw at Perry Barr in the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership with the visitors eventually winning the Super Heat.
But just as important was the reaction of the public to the Brummies’ elevation, a decade after they last raced at that level.
Tolley said: “The crowd was fantastic. No real surprise I guess, but it was the biggest since we took over the club and long may it continue.
“The Brummies fans were out in force, the Sheffield supporters travelled in strong numbers as always, it was great to see so many Wolverhampton fans too – as well as a few neutrals from other tracks!
“So we really can’t complain and if only we could’ve somehow held on to that win, it would’ve been the perfect night all-round.”
