PIRATES YOUNGSTERS RETURN
TEENAGE British stars Will Cairns and Cooper Rushen have both agreed returns to Cab Direct Championship winners Poole in 2027.
17-yeard-old Cairns rode his first full season in the second tier this year after joining midway through the previous campaign whilst Rushen, 16, made his senior debut and both played a major part in the Pirates’ league and BSN Series double success.
They are set to start next season on averages of 6.45 and 5.01 respectively, subject to approval.
Poole co-promoter Dan Ford said: “It makes no sense for us to build a side without these two youngsters being able to play their part.
“There is so much more in both of them, and that is kind of frightening when you reflect on just how well they have progressed since gaining their professional licences.
“The pair of them are both very self-critical, and they are so determined to reach the very top in their careers, and it is a great joy to have them both wearing the skull and crossbones. I feel that their returns will be universally acclaimed amongst our fanbase.”
