OXFORD RETAIN THREE TEAMS

OXFORD have stated their intention to once again operate teams at all three levels of British Speedway in 2025.

The Cowley club, who have been a major success story since they returned to racing in 2022, broke new ground this season when they entered both senior levels of the sport.

They formed the Spires team to compete in the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership in addition to the established Cheetahs in the Cab Direct Championship, with youth development continuing with the Chargers in the WSRA NDL – making for a packed programme of home fixtures at Sandy Lane.

Promoter Jamie Courtney said: “While there’s been one or two bumps along the way I feel that it has been well received with the public embracing the opportunity to see some of the best riders in the world in the Premiership, the next batch of world beaters in the Championship, and some exciting raw talent in their formative years via the National Development League.

“We’re still very much blazing our own trail here, but there was enough positive response in 2024 to make it worth trying again in 2025.”
