NICHOLLS INJURY SETBACK
OXFORD Cheetahs captain Scott Nicholls has been ruled out of the start of next season as he heads for surgery on his dislocated shoulder this week.
Nicholls sustained the injury in a crash during the club’s final home meeting of 2024 when he came to grief in his opening ride of the Cab Direct KO Cup Final against Poole.
It means the Cowley side now have to consider alternatives for their team building in the knowledge that Nicholls will not be available next spring.
He said: “It’s a race against time to be fit and I will work hard to be back as soon as I can, but sadly I won’t be ready to start the season.
“I have informed Oxford Speedway of the situation and they will be doing what they can to build the best team possible for the start of the season without my presence.
“I’m truly devastated by my current situation, but as you all know I’ll do my best to be back as soon as possible.”
