MONARCHS MOVE FOR MPT
EDINBURGH are set to bring experienced Danish racer Michael Palm Toft into their team from the start of next month.
The Monarchs have been seeking a replacement for Oskar Polis after the Pole quit the club recently, and they have now confirmed a deal with Palm Toft who had been out of racing in the early weeks of the season.
Palm Toft will join the Armadale side when averages change on June 1, meaning his debut will come in the home Cab Direct Championship clash with Oxford on June 6.
He said: “I am really looking forward to getting to ride for the Monarchs.
“It has been a few years we have been talking back and forth but nothing has really come out of it. I guess circumstance has made it possible now, here we are, and I can’t wait to get started.
“I decided to take some more time to get over the injuries I had last year and just work really.
“I was in a different position than ever in that I also have a full time job so it was just one of them where I thought I’ll take a bit of time out, get over the injury, and get hungry to get back on the bike, so it was a funny situation but it has worked out and I am hungry to get back.”
