LOCAL AWARD FOR FLINT

BERWICK captain Leon Flint has received local recognition for his 2022 success by collecting the Town Mayor’s Achievement Award.

The award is traditionally presented to groups and charities who make an outstanding contribution to the town.

Flint completed a sensational double last year by clinching both the British Under-19 and Under-21 titles in the same season, as well as enjoying his best-ever campaign with the Bandits and being part of the Great Britain set-up.

Said Flint: “It was a nice surprise to be told that I’d been nominated for the award and a pleasure to meet the mayor.

“There’s something special about being able to celebrate success in your hometown and I would like to thank both the mayor and the council for their kind words.”
