KILDEMAND PLANS RETIREMENT

DANISH star Peter Kildemand has announced he will retire from the sport at the end of the season.

The former Swindon favourite made a successful return to UK racing last year, racing for Oxford and Berwick, whilst in 2026 he remained with the Bandits in the second tier and switched to league leaders Belle Vue in the top-flight.

It means he has further opportunities of adding to his list of domestic silverware before calling it a day, with the Aces in the Premiership play-offs and the Bandits in the MAXiCAB KO Cup Final.

Kildemand, 36, said: “It is a decision I have thought about a lot. Speedway has been a huge part of my life for 33 years and the sport has given me far more than I ever dared to dream.

“Therefore, it feels right to stop now, while I can make the decision and say goodbye on my own terms.

“I am incredibly proud of what I have achieved and I would like to say a huge thank you to all of you fans who have followed me through thick and thin. Your support has meant more than you will ever know.”
