JOSH’S HIGH HOPES FOR MONARCHS

EDINBURGH No.1 Josh Pickering says the club have high expectations as they prepare for a big season-opener against Glasgow on Friday.

Pickering, who delighted Monarchs fans by reversing a previous decision to quit racing in the second tier, wants the Armadale side to set an early marker in the BSN Series clash.

He said: “I am looking forward to it, this is my eighth year back now and I am sure we can finally win some silverware.

“Glasgow are a strong outfit but the boys we have here know what we need to do, there are no excuses.

“Every rider in the main body of the team knows what it is all about and we should be setting our expectations high.

“If everyone does their jobs, we are good enough to win everywhere, that is my goal and mindset.”
