JAKOBSEN KEEN FOR UK DEBUT

WORKINGTON newcomer Niklas Holm Jakobsen says the advice of fellow countrymen played a big part in his decision to start his UK career with the club.

The 18-year-old says new Comets No.1 Jonas Jeppesen has been a big influence on his career, and he is looking forward to teaming up at the GT Tyres Arena.

Jakobsen said: “I have always wanted to go to the UK, difficult tracks, more grip and more races to improve myself.

“Last year I was with Jonas in Berwick to see what it is like and I just wanted to go!

“I chose Workington after talking with other riders, like Jonas, Claus Vissing and a bit with Hans Andersen.

“I am 100 per cent ready, I have a busy calendar, and I hope to race as much as possible. I don’t know a lot about the UK so the first season here I will be learning, but I think it will be a great experience.”
