HARRIS: WE’LL DO ALL WE CAN
GLASGOW captain Chris Harris is out to break Poole hearts again in the Cab Direct Championship Grand Final tonight (Wednesday).
Harris, who scored a brilliant paid maximum in the first leg at Ashfield, has huge play-off history both for and against the Pirates.
In 2010 he led Coventry to an astonishing Elite League title triumph despite being run over in a heavy first-bend crash – but in 2018, racing for Poole, he helped the Dorset side to win the Premiership after joining in mid-season.
Now he wants to lead the Tigers to their first title since 2011, and they take a 14-point lead into the second leg.
Harris said: “There’s a long way to go yet. We’ve got to defend 14 points and they are tough round their home track. But there’s no reason why we can’t go down there and win with the roll we are on at the minute.
“We know what the track is going to be like, it will be slick, I’ve never known it to be anything different. If it’s grippy then perfect.
“Whatever they throw at us, it’s the same for everyone, we’ll do all that we can do.
“I redeemed myself when I won the league with Poole in 2018 after breaking their hearts in 2010.
“I’ve got to try and do it again this year. I owe this one to Glasgow. Let’s break their hearts again.”
