FORD: PIRATES KEEN TO BOUNCE BACK

POOLE promoter Dan Ford says the club will redouble their efforts to secure major silverware next season.

The Pirates saw their grip on the Cab Direct Championship ended by Glasgow in the Grand Final last month, and were unable to take consolation in the KO Cup as they were beaten in the Final by Scunthorpe.

Clubs are now working on plans for 2024 with the British Speedway Promoters’ Ltd AGM taking place next week.

Ford said: “When we look back on the 2023 record then obviously by our standards it finished as a relatively disappointing season despite winning the BSN Series, finishing top of the league and reaching all three major Finals.

“The hard work now begins as we look ahead to 2024 and build a team strong and exciting enough to bring the silverware back to where we want it to be.”
