EX-RIDER BACKING CHEETAHS

FORMER Oxford rider Spencer Timmo is to step up his involvement in the club by taking over as main team sponsor of the Cheetahs this year.

Timmo, whose main spell at Cowley came in the early 1990s, has given his backing throughout their recent period of 15 years out of the sport and then since their hugely successful revival in 2022, having been a sponsor of the Chargers in the WSRA National Development League.

He owns SD Timmo Car Sales who will now become title sponsors of the club’s Cab Direct Championship team.

Timmo said: “I kept the name and the venue in people’s minds by taking out regular full-page adverts in the Oxford Mail to help keep the momentum and pressure on to return speedway to Oxford.

“I am really pleased to be able to step up my support for the club. Oxford Speedway is special to me for so many obvious reasons.”
