DOUBLE CHANGE FOR MONARCHS

EDINBURGH have signed 20-year-old Danish rider Bastian Borke as the club make changes ahead of their next Cab Direct Championship fixture on June 9.

Borke has been recommended to the Monarchs by Hans Nielsen and Henrik Moller who have both watched his progress during their involvement in the Danish national set-up.

The Armadale club have released reserves Kyle Bickley and Jacob Hook from their Championship side – although they will stay with the club in the NDL – and will be using a 2.00 rider in that position, with Academy rider Dayle Wood coming in against Glasgow.

Borke said: “I am very happy to be joining Edinburgh, I think I will learn a lot in Britain.

“I have also ridden a lot in Sweden last year, this season not so much, but also in Poland this season as well as Denmark.

“I have heard of the Monarchs and ridden against some of their riders – Jacob Hook, Lasse Fredriksen and Paco Castagna. I am looking forward to coming over.”
