CHEETAHS’ RUN GOES ON
OXFORD maintained their unbeaten record at the top of the Cab Direct Championship with a 54-36 win over Edinburgh at Cowley.
Skipper Scott Nicholls kept up his stunning run of form throughout the season so far with 16+1 from six rides as the Cheetahs overcame the absence of broken collarbone victim Lewis Kerr.
Jordan Jenkins added 11 and Sam Masters picked up 10+1 for the home side, whilst the Monarchs battled hard led by Craig Cook with 13 points.
Jenkins said: “It was another great performance from the whole team tonight. All the boys came good, while the track was similar to last week and it’s always nice to have a bit of consistency.
“We’re keeping a healthy lead at the top of the table, and we are where we want to be, before it starts all over again in the play-offs.”
Monarchs boss John Campbell said: “The performance was much more competitive than the final score suggests.
“Craig Cook was at his terrific best including an excellent win in what was a sensational heat 13.
“Josh Pickering was trying everything to get more speed from his bike and I am certain that he will be back scoring more points very soon.”
