CHEETAHS ON THE MARCH

OXFORD Cheetahs kept up their strong home form with a 55-34 win over Scunthorpe at Cowley to close in on the Cab Direct Championship play-off places.

Cameron Heeps scored a four ride 10+2 paid maximum for the home side whilst top two Sam Masters (12+2) and Scott Nicholls (12+1) both also reached double figures.

It was the Scorpions’ first defeat of the league season as they made a slow start to go 16-points down after five races, but Jake Allen then won two races to finish on ten points.

Heeps said: “I’m enjoying being back in the races. Tonight there was the race where I grabbed the place on the line [Heat 9].

“It was a great performance from all the boys. When we all click together, we’re a force to be reckoned with.

“Everything is going in the right direction, we’ll continue trending that way and hopefully at the end of the year, we’re pushing for the No 1 spot.”
