CHEETAHS ARE PLAY-OFF BOUND

OXFORD Cheetahs have secured their place in the Cab Direct Championship play-offs after a comfortable 55-35 win over Glasgow at Cowley.

Sam Masters struck a 15-point maximum for the home side, who overcame the loss of reserve Luke Killeen in a heavy Heat 8 crash to record a clear victory.

The Tigers were limited to four race wins with Chris Harris leading the way on 14 points from six rides, but their top four chances are now hanging by a thread.

The defending champions are likely to need wins in all of their last three matches, along with at least two more aggregate points, to keep their hopes alive.

Masters said: “You turn up to win every race and tonight I did that. It was good to beat Chris Harris three times tonight – Bomber can pass you from anywhere, but I had him covered.

“But more importantly we had a good win over a strong Glasgow team. It was a good performance not just from me but the whole team and it’s a good score to take up there on Friday.”
