CHALLENGE FOR KEMP

BERWICK manager Stewart Dickson is calling on former British Under-19 Champion Drew Kemp to make the big jump in his career this season.

Kemp will be racing for Dickson’s teams in both senior leagues, as he lines up for the Bandits in the Cab Direct Championship and Leicester in the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership.

He collected 11 points across his first two Berwick appearances against Workington in the Border Trophy, despite being down on power.

Dickson said: “Drew needs to find a consistency which will see his career progress.

“He has been at the same level for the past couple of seasons and I think this is the year he has to push on.

“Most riders have what I call a jump year, the one where they concentrate on stepping up to the next level. 2024 needs to be Drew’s jump year.”
