CAIRNS CONFIRMED BY PIRATES

POOLE have confirmed 16-year-old talent Will Cairns will join the team in time for this Wednesday’s Cab Direct Championship clash with Glasgow.

The Pirates announced the signing of Cairns last winter but had to wait until his birthday before he could become eligible for senior racing.

Cairns reached his milestone last Sunday and he now takes the place of Darryl Ritchings who has been with the club for the past six weeks.

Promoter Dan Ford said: “Of course there is a considerable amount of interest in young Will joining us, but we must remember that, talented as he is, we will need him to settle into the new challenges.

“I believe here at Poole he will have the riders and management behind him to help further his bright career.”
