BUZZ ABOUT BANDITS

NEW Berwick manager Stewart Dickson says there’s a renewed positivity about the Bandits as they head into the 2024 season this weekend.

Dickson has been recruited to take charge of the Shielfield Park side – along with his commitments in the top-flight with Leicester – and has made wholesale changes in a bid to fashion a play-off challenge.

Lewis Kerr, Danyon Hume, Drew Kemp, Bastian Borke and Freddy Hodder will all make their debuts in the Border Trophy clashes with Workington, starting at home on Saturday.

Dickson said: “To be honest I’m not overly worried about the opposition because if my riders do their job then I’m confident that we have assembled a side to do well this season both home and away.

“Speaking to our supporters at last week’s practice session they like what they see with the new-look Bandits side.

“There is definitely a buzz around the town at the moment and it is up to us to keep that going.”
