BRENNAN DELIGHT AT TURNAROUND

POOLE star Tom Brennan says he had additional motivation to score heavily in the Pirates’ league title decider against Oxford on Wednesday.

Brennan had scored just four points in the first leg of the Cab Direct Championship Grand Final at Cowley, as his side suffered a 51-39 defeat.

But he hit back with 13 from five rides at Wimborne Road on Wednesday, top scoring in a 56-34 win which saw the Pirates secure their third league title in four years.

Brennan said: “The reason why we had such a big margin to make up was because of my performance on Saturday.

“I am employed to be a heat leader and for sure I wasn’t, so I had to come here tonight and kind of prove it.

“It’s great to win the title, it’s an absolutely unbelievable feeling and I think it is the best trophy I have won.”
