BOWES RELISHING UK DEBUT

WORKINGTON newcomer Fraser Bowes has spoken of his excitement to be racing in the UK for the first time – and he’s delighted to be at the GT Tyres Arena.

23-year-old Australian racer Bowes, the son of former racer Shane, is building up to a busy season as he is also set to compete in Poland and Sweden.

And he says joining the Comets is the perfect way to get started in the Cab Direct Championship.

He said: “I had been in contact with James [Denham] and Steve [Lawson] for a while about coming over.

“There was someone behind the scenes advising me where to go and we said that with Steve’s knowledge, it’s a no-brainer to go to Workington and I couldn’t be in better hands.

“Having Troy (Batchelor) in the team will be great. He’s a former GP rider and been there and done it, so he comes with a lot of knowledge, and I’ll be able to get advice from him. I think the team looks strong.”
