BORKE BOOST FOR BANDITS

BERWICK reserve Bastian Borke has escaped serious injury following his spectacular crash at Shielfield Park on Saturday.

The popular Danish youngster fell heavily in Heat 14 of the BSN Series encounter with his former club Edinburgh after a clash with Monarchs skipper Paco Castagna.

Borke needed medical treatment for severe pain in his lower back and pelvic area, but after being taken to Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital at Cramlington, doctors were able to confirm there were no breaks or fractures.

Said Borke: “All good, no breaks, it looks like I have stretched a muscle or something. So a couple of days to relax and we will be sweet.”

The Bandits will now hope Borke is fit for their next BSN Series fixture at Glasgow on Friday.
