BEARS ON THE TROPHY HUNT

REDCAR boss Gavin Parr praised the efforts of his side at Glasgow as they remained in contention for a team trophy treble this season.

The Bears have completed a tough week on the road which saw them hold Poole to a six-point advantage in the first leg of their Cab Direct Championship play-off semi-final, before they travelled to Ashfield in the BSN Series semi and only went down 46-44 in a last-heat decider on the night.

Parr said: “All of the boys battled really hard, it was an absolutely brilliant performance. However, we’ve done nothing yet so we’ve got to finish the job off in the second leg.”

Redcar are also in contention for the MAXiCab KO Cup, with the first leg of their semi-final against Oxford taking place at the ECCO Arena this Friday.
