BEARS IN STRONG HOME FINISH

REDCAR took maximum points from a 51-39 home win over Glasgow although their Cab Direct Championship play-off aspirations still came to an end.

The Bears needed assistance from Edinburgh at Scunthorpe to remain in the hunt, but the Scorpions’ big win means the Teessiders cannot now finish in the top four.

However, they still have the BSN Series to go for, and youngster Jody Scott continued his strong run at home with 13 points from five rides whilst guest Nicolai Klindt was unbeaten with 11+1 from four.

The Tigers are third in the table with one match remaining having been limited to five race wins, with guest Anders Rowe top scoring on 10 points as they missed out on an aggregate point for only the second time.

Glasgow boss Cami Brown said: “It was disappointing. We just didn’t really click as a unit tonight. It’s hard when you’ve got three guests instead of your own guys. 

“It’s a frustrating result because I felt we could have at least got the aggregate point.

“We are not firing on all cylinders at all. You cannot have passengers away from home, you won’t get results.”
