BEARS GRAB LATE WIN

REDCAR snatched victory in the Tyne/Tees Trophy as they overcame a Newcastle Select with a last-heat 5-1 at the ECCO Arena.

Skipper Charles Wright completed a 15-point maximum and was joined by Jason Edwards in the decider as the Bears won 46-44 with their riders getting the better of Steve Worrall and Lewis Kerr to overturn the Diamonds’ advantage.

Danny King scored 11 for the home side with Edwards contributing 9+4, whilst Kerr top-scored for the visiting team on 10+1.
