PREVIEW: BRITISH YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIP Round 7
THE 2022 British Youth Championship comes to a conclusion this afternoon (Sunday) with Kent stepping in to host the seventh and final round for all classes.
Although the three British Champions Sam McGurk (500cc), Luke Harrison (250cc) and Cooper Rushen (125cc) have now all been confirmed, there is still plenty to race for with rostrum places in all three classes still to be confirmed.
In the 500cc class Ben Trigger needs to reach the Final to overtake Freddy Hodder for the bronze medal, whilst Sonny Springer and Ashton Vale are competing for the silver and bronze medals in the 250cc class with the scenario of if Vale finishes one place in front of Springer there would be the need of a run-off for second overall.
The most exciting class is the 125cc with four riders Stene Pijper, Oliver Bovingdon, Archie Rolph and Seth Norman still having a chance of claiming the silver and bronze medals.
Youth boss Neil Vatcher said: “It’s still all to play for on what will be an exciting and tense afternoon of British Youth racing.
“The Young Lions would like to thank all the clubs that have given their support to British Youth Speedway in 2022, as well as their series sponsors and the members of the BSP Ltd.
“Also special mention to all the riders and their families who have taken part in 2022.”
Series sponsors: Nuneaton Speedway Supporters Club, Wessex Marine, Foxbury Motors, Rentruck, Gordon Pairman, Friends of Speedway, Northern Scaffolding Solutions, Abrams Insurance, Brian Royle, KanDysoft Solutions, Creative Doc Productions and the ASR.
